SLO: Develop and lead instructional workshops on general research topics or other topics of interest

Task: Design an hour long workshop with relevance to the students and library resources. Topics can be geared towards a specific subject or library resource.

Evidence: Completed instructional plan, potentially including photos when the workshop takes place

Social Media:

Advertisement graphic: The design was inspired by the album cover for "Brat" by Charli xcx. This was chosen as a topical reference to something students would be familiar with online.

These are the workshops that were never meant to be. I spent a good majority of the first third of my internship planning these, and then life got in the way. However, the preparation time was extremely beneficial. I was given the chance to be creative, look at trends in the library, and see where I could fill a gap. I chose these topics because they are relevant to my interests.

Both workshops were heavily activity based. While the social media one may seem short, there were activities planned to explore the algorithms and tagged posts on their social media pages, and research the broad subject in several different databases. The archival workshop gave time for the students to actually examine selected primary resources, apply the basic research questions discussed, and draw conclusions.

While these workshops were never implemented, I at least have them in my back pocket, ready to go if I so need. I can also make further improvements on them for the future.
