Observe and co-teach course integrated library instruction sessions

Observe lectures given by librarians for different courses relating to their subjects. Develop teaching skills and learn the differing techniques to create an effective learning experience for students.

Evaluative notes on the course lectures observed and completed lesson plan

Teach course integrated library instruction sessions

Develop and execute lesson plans for instruction sessions. Utilize skills learned from observations to teach to the skill levels of students

Completed instructional plans, potentially including photos when instruction session take place

Develop and lead instructional workshops on general research topics or other topics of interest

Design an hour long workshop with relevance to the students and library resources. Topics can be geared towards a specific subject or library resource.

Increase reference skills for academic libraries

Work the reference desk, answer various student questions regarding library resources. Become familiar with the specific resources available within the library, including CSU One Search system.

Maintain a log of student inquiries. Comfort with answering student questions in-person and using the 24/7 Ask-A-Librarian service. Ability to lead a student consultation with confidence
